Yang Pengxin is an associate professor in the Department of Drama, Film, and Television Arts at the School of Liberal Arts at Nanjing University. He is also the deputy director of the department, a master’s supervisor, the director of the Film and Television Laboratory, and an outstanding young backbone teacher in the “Qinglan Project” of Jiangsu Province. He previously served as one of the executive editors of the academic journal Stage and Screen Reviews.

He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Literature (2010), Master of Film Studies (2013), and Ph.D. in Drama and Film Studies (2016) from Nanjing University. He also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Chinese Language and Literature. From September 2014 to September 2015, he was a joint Ph.D. student studying at the University of California, Davis.

His research interests include film theory and drama theory.
