Luo Huilin
Personal Introduction
Luo Huilin, female, is an associate professor and master’s supervisor in the Department of Drama, Film and Arts at Nanjing University. She holds a Ph.D. in literature from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature and postdoctoral experience in philosophy from the Department of Philosophy at Nanjing University. Her interdisciplinary research focuses on “spatiotemporal forms” and “spatial turn”, spanning the fields of art, philosophy, and literature. Her research interests include film theory, screenwriting theory, film philosophy, spatiotemporal philosophy, modern and contemporary literature, and cultural studies.
Currently, her research focuses on three aspects: the art of screenwriting from philosophical perspectives, the intertextuality between film and literature, and classic film theory and film philosophy. These three aspects often intersect and blend in her research, aiming to stimulate more creativity in the spiritual bungee jumping between sensibility and rationality.
She proposes a new research perspective of “screenwriting philosophy” and conducts a systematic and detailed demonstration, covering the overall construction of the theory, practical techniques, and analysis of classic and original cases. The book, with a word count of around 680,000 to 700,000, is almost completed and will be published soon. She also proposes and demonstrates a new research method of “interdisciplinary study of film and literature” and proposes a path to explore and practice the possibility of interdisciplinary innovation that integrates sensibility and rationality with “spiritual bungee jumping”.
In addition to research, she also engages in creative practices, such as the author of the “Solo-Dance Traces (独舞履痕 in Chinese)” (a series of works) at BBS of Nanjing University.
